Gift of Life

While a sea has its waves and a river has its fall,

There was a small pond of water, that was always at stall.

Sometimes the pond wondered, what it would be like,

To move like a river, and have sea like tides.

Dream it would often, as an ocean so deep,

And as water abound, moving down the steep.

One fine evening, as the sun set in the skies,

Near the pond came a girl, with two beautiful eyes.

Her eyes looked so pure, free from any guise,

Every time the pond averted, they called for a reprise.

Her eyes reflected a journey, no river could describe,

Leave aside ocean, they were as deep as the skies.

Forever the pond had wished, to move and sway and tide,

All it wanted now was to sit there all its life.

The pond though knew in heart, such moments often cease,

The eyes, as if heard that, and a tear they released.

A tear with her heart, encased in a tiny whit,

A tear meant for the pond, for it to be kept as a gift.

It tasted sure like ocean, and was as pure as the shrine,

With the silence of a river, it was pond’s gift of all times.

It became a part of the pond, within it as it pervade,

It fulfilled all the wishes, pond had ever made.

The tear gave the pond, a new meaning to its life,

Remembered the pond forever, those ‘beautiful eyes’.

Impressions

For some, I was a whisper often lost,

For others, I was silence with no prods.

But for him, I was the words he never said,

And for her, I was his eyes, she always read.

For some, I was time that sure becomes past,

For others, I was seconds that fly so fast.

But for her, I was the hours she waited for him,

And for him, the moments he brought her a grin.

For some I was a tear in the eye,

For others I was a moment of goodbye.

But for them I was a smile they always wore,

A smile that said all, a smile to adore

Fortunate I was to be part of their lives.

Without them, I wouldn’t have survived.

Some evince me by roses, some by doves,

But for them I was Love, for them I was love.
