Gift of Life

While a sea has its waves and a river has its fall,

There was a small pond of water, that was always at stall.

Sometimes the pond wondered, what it would be like,

To move like a river, and have sea like tides.

Dream it would often, as an ocean so deep,

And as water abound, moving down the steep.

One fine evening, as the sun set in the skies,

Near the pond came a girl, with two beautiful eyes.

Her eyes looked so pure, free from any guise,

Every time the pond averted, they called for a reprise.

Her eyes reflected a journey, no river could describe,

Leave aside ocean, they were as deep as the skies.

Forever the pond had wished, to move and sway and tide,

All it wanted now was to sit there all its life.

The pond though knew in heart, such moments often cease,

The eyes, as if heard that, and a tear they released.

A tear with her heart, encased in a tiny whit,

A tear meant for the pond, for it to be kept as a gift.

It tasted sure like ocean, and was as pure as the shrine,

With the silence of a river, it was pond’s gift of all times.

It became a part of the pond, within it as it pervade,

It fulfilled all the wishes, pond had ever made.

The tear gave the pond, a new meaning to its life,

Remembered the pond forever, those ‘beautiful eyes’.

Impressions

For some, I was a whisper often lost,

For others, I was silence with no prods.

But for him, I was the words he never said,

And for her, I was his eyes, she always read.

For some, I was time that sure becomes past,

For others, I was seconds that fly so fast.

But for her, I was the hours she waited for him,

And for him, the moments he brought her a grin.

For some I was a tear in the eye,

For others I was a moment of goodbye.

But for them I was a smile they always wore,

A smile that said all, a smile to adore

Fortunate I was to be part of their lives.

Without them, I wouldn’t have survived.

Some evince me by roses, some by doves,

But for them I was Love, for them I was love.

Before Sunrise

As the World goes asleep, I open my eyes,

Moon they call me, I adorn the skies.

Different is my Garb, as I am born each night,

My soul remains the same, changes only the sight.

Fortunate I am, my living is worth,

I revolve around you ‘O beautiful Earth’.

So charming are your looks, virtues you’ve rife,

Lives evolve in you, you are full of life.

Parted we might be, Separate we are not,

I am bond to you, inconspicuous is the knot.

Respect I the Fact, and regrets I have none,

What I feel for you, You feel for the Sun.

Never should you shed a tear, is my prime concern,

Honest are my feelings, I expect no returns.

Sometimes I hide behind the clouds, when I feel pain.

But tears I can’t hide; they fall as rain.

But I always wear a smile; I have a reason for mirth,

In my Heart you shall reside ‘O Beautiful Earth’.

The Sun is about to rise, soon shall I fade,

I shall live with the memories, they never evade.

Generous is the Sun, He values my feelings,

As I eclipse Him, He presents you the Ring.

Remember me if you can, as a period of spring,

As a Light in the Dark, as a shine of your Ring.

A Pearl is Forever

Lifeless I may be, for emotions I detain,

I too have a story though; I am a small sand grain.

As I lay under the clouds, smiling in pain,

From Heaven you descend ‘O Drop of Rain’.

The thunder grows louder and the sky gets bright,

As they witness both of us, taking The Plight.

Divine was your touch that mellowed my heart.

Treasure I shall forever this journey we embark.

Wanderer I was, you gave me an aim.

Merrily we move, putting each obstacle to shame.

Meandering past hurdles as we advance,

Approaches a waterfall, we’re caught in a trance.

I pray for you, against death as we race.

You hold me tightly, as if its last embrace.

Fortunate I am, I can share your moments,

Speed you might have lost, all love is unspent.

Cherish I shall evermore, days and nights we spend.

Apprehensive I get seldom, every journey has its end.

The Sky beckons you, and so does the Paradise.

Helpless I sink, as I see you vaporize.

Futile I was, you transformed me into silt.

I could never see you again, is my only guilt.

What is life, without some hope!

Hope rekindles; in an oyster I elope.

The Oyster sheds tears, as memories I gather.

The Moments shall live in me, as a Pearl Forever.

Priceless I may be, for emotions I retain.

I still wait for you ‘O Drop of Rain’.
