Stopping Time
What if I were to tell you,
That we can stop the flow of time,
That moment when we click a picture,
We actually win a race against time.
Years and years will pass by,
But that picture will never age,
The emotions preserved in the picture,
Would forever provide us solace.
What if I were to tell you,
That there exists, one more way to stop time,
When we meet a long lost friend,
The clocks forget to chime.
Their mere existence completes us
Like a harmony completes its rhyme,
That part of us which we have lost,
In their memories of us, we find.
Years and years will pass by,
But for them we will never age,
The bond that we share with them,
Has the purity of a prayer offered by sage.
Like a picture is worth a thousand words,
A moment spent with them is worth a lifetime,
I have gradually started believing now
That we can stop the flow of time.
